First European Congress on Photosynthesis Research, ePS-1
A Marcus Wallenberg Symposium

Welcome to the 1st European Congress on Photosynthesis Research ePS-1

Date: June 25-28, 2018                     Place: Uppsala, Sweden

Registration is open!

Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to welcome You to the first conference in a new European meeting series for photosynthesis research. This conference series is intended to run every four years, two years after the International Congress on Photosynthesis Research. It thus bridges the gap in the four year schedule for the international meeting. ePS-1, like the international photosynthesis congress, is organized under the auspices of the International Society for Photosynthesis Research.

ePS-1 will cover all aspects of photosynthesis, from genetics and molecular mechanisms, to crop yields, artificial photosynthesis and solar fuels. In addition, we will organize the ePS-Young meeting for PhD students and postdocs, the weekend before the main meeting.

Registration for ePS-1 will be open on the "Registration" page until May 3, 2018. Just follow link at the top of this page for further information and a link to the registration form. You can also sign up for automatic updates via email by clicking on "Get updates" in the green box.

We hope to see you in Uppsala!

On behalf of the organizing committee,

Carl Linnaeus, "the father of modern taxonomy", was professor and rector at Uppsala University. He was one of the six founders of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Hammarby is a farm estate outside Uppsala, where Carl Linnaeus spent the summers together with his family. It is now a museum reflecting Linnaeus' private life and scientific work.

Svante Arrhenius, Swedish chemist notable for the Arrhenius equation, was the first to calculate the temperature changes inflicted by carbon dioxide emissions. Arrhenius studied at Uppsala University and is buried in the Uppsala old cementery.
